How far is our office from Van Nuys?
Saticoy Street runs west from Van Nuys Boulevard through Lake Balboa straight into Reseda, and our office is on it between Balcom Avenue and White Oak Avenue. From Van Nuys Boulevard and Saticoy it's about five miles with no turns. From the Van Nuys Civic Center at Victory and Van Nuys Boulevard, Victory west to White Oak Avenue and north is about the same. From the 405, exit Sherman Way and head west three miles to White Oak, then north half a mile. From Valley Presbyterian Hospital on Vanowen, Vanowen west to White Oak and north. Call it 10 to 20 minutes.
Same-day emergency dental care for Van Nuys patients
Call first, get a held time, come once. Everything is handled in our office on Saticoy Street:
- Toothache relief when the pain has outlasted the ibuprofen
- Emergency extractions, simple and surgical, plus wisdom teeth

What an emergency dental visit costs for Van Nuys patients
The visit starts at $99 for the exam and X-rays for patients paying without insurance; with a PPO plan, they're billed to the plan. After that, our dentist quotes your specific treatment in writing before any work begins. We accept all PPO dental plans, and Cherry, CareCredit and Sunbit financing plus in-house payment plans are available. After hours for Van Nuys patients: the phone still works
The office is closed after 6:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday, after 7:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, after 5:00 PM on Friday, and on most Saturdays and every Sunday. The phone is answered by a real person at every hour. A Van Nuys toothache at midnight gets your details taken and a held chair for the first opening, usually 9:00 AM the next business day. One Saturday a month we open by appointment; ask which. Swelling that's spreading toward the eye or throat means Valley Presbyterian Hospital or Northridge Hospital Medical Center first, then us for the tooth. Before you leave Van Nuys: three things that help
Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, taken as the label directs before the drive, will have started working by the time you park. If a tooth is out, it goes back in the socket or into milk, not a tissue. And the call to (323) 433-6458 happens before the key turns, so the room is ready while you're still on Saticoy.
One Van Nuys note: the 405 is almost never the right choice for this trip. Saticoy is a straight line from Van Nuys Boulevard to our door, with far fewer signals than Sherman Way or Victory.

I was seen at Valley Presbyterian for facial swelling. Now what?
Call us the same day or the next morning and bring the paperwork and any prescription. The hospital handles the spreading infection; the tooth that started it still needs treatment, usually a root canal or an extraction, and that happens here.
Do you send records to my regular dentist in Van Nuys?
Yes, with your permission. We treat the emergency and forward a summary and the X-rays so your regular office isn't starting from scratch at your next checkup.
Can I be seen after work on a weekday?
On Tuesday and Thursday, yes, until 7:00 PM, which from Van Nuys means leaving by about 6:30. On Monday and Wednesday the last times run to 6:00 PM, and on Friday to 5:00 PM. Call as early in the day as you can and the front desk holds you a slot.
Do you have Spanish-speaking staff?
