How far is our office from Encino?
From Ventura Boulevard and Balboa Boulevard, head north on Balboa past the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area and the Balboa Sports Center, cross Victory and Sherman Way, and turn west on Saticoy Street; we're a mile along, between Balcom Avenue and White Oak Avenue. That's about four and a half miles. From the west end of Encino near White Oak Avenue, White Oak north from Ventura to Saticoy is more direct. From Encino Commons and the 101 at Balboa, the same Balboa route applies. Call it 9 to 15 minutes.

What an emergency dental visit costs for Encino patients
The visit starts at $99 for the exam and X-rays for patients paying without insurance; with a PPO plan, they're billed to the plan. After that, our dentist quotes your specific treatment in writing before any work begins. We accept all PPO dental plans, and Cherry, CareCredit and Sunbit financing plus in-house payment plans are available. Getting here from Encino
- From Ventura Boulevard and Balboa Boulevard: north on Balboa about three and a half miles to Saticoy, then west a mile.
- From the west end near White Oak Avenue: White Oak north from Ventura about four miles; Saticoy is half a mile past Sherman Way.
- From Los Encinos State Historic Park and Encino Commons: Balboa Boulevard north, same as above.
- From the 101 and 405 interchange: exit Balboa Boulevard northbound rather than staying on the 405; surface streets are quicker for this trip.
- From south of the boulevard in the hills: any route to Ventura, then Balboa or White Oak north.
Parking is on site. Metro buses run along Balboa Boulevard and along Sherman Way.
After hours for Encino patients: the phone still works
The office is closed after 6:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday, after 7:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, after 5:00 PM on Friday, and on most Saturdays and every Sunday. The phone is answered by a real person at every hour. An Encino toothache at midnight gets your details taken and a held chair for the first opening, usually 9:00 AM the next business day. One Saturday a month we open by appointment; ask which. Swelling that's spreading toward the eye or throat means Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center first, then us for the tooth. Before you leave Encino: three things that help
Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, taken as the label directs before the drive, will have started working by the time you park. If a tooth is out, it goes back in the socket or into milk, not a tissue. One Encino note: the 405 northbound from the 101 interchange is rarely worth it for a four-mile trip. Balboa Boulevard through the Sepulveda Basin is usually moving even when the freeway isn't.

Are you closer to Encino than the offices along Ventura Boulevard?
Some Ventura Boulevard offices are closer on the map. The difference is usually whether a same-day chair is open, whether there's an evening time, and whether the extraction or root canal happens on site or by referral. Ours happen here. Do you send records to my regular dentist in Encino?
Yes, with your permission. We treat the emergency and forward a summary and the X-rays so your regular office isn't starting from scratch at your next checkup.
My kid got hurt at the Balboa Sports Center and a tooth is loose. What do I do?
Keep the tooth as still as possible, don't let them bite on it, and call us while you drive; Balboa north to Saticoy is 9 to 15 minutes. If the tooth is fully out, put it back in the socket if you can or keep it in milk, and follow the steps on the knocked-out tooth page. If there's a possible jaw injury or a head injury, the ER comes first.
Can I be seen after work on a weekday?
On Tuesday and Thursday, yes, until 7:00 PM. On Monday and Wednesday the last times run to 6:00 PM, and on Friday to 5:00 PM. Call as early in the day as you can and the front desk holds you a slot.
Do you have Spanish-speaking staff?
